Professional Recare Visits for National Dental Hygiene Month

Though more commonly recognized as the month for tricks, treats, and lots of candy, October is also recognized nationally as the Dental Health Month. Designed to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining excellent oral care, which includes twice daily brushing, daily flossing, and regular dental cleanings, National Dental Hygiene Month (NDHM) is an ideal time to schedule a recare visit with Dr. Victor Oelbaum & Associates and to help protect your beautiful smile throughout the holidays and beyond.

During your six month recare visit, Dr. Oelbaum will carefully examine all areas of your mouth for potential concerns, such as cavities, gingivitis, tooth decay, and plaque buildup, and he will also discuss your at-home oral hygiene regimen. These routine recare visits are essential to help combat plaque and tartar formation, which cannot be removed by brushing and flossing alone. They also provide an excellent opportunity to ask any questions, discuss the aesthetics of your smile, and screen for oral cancer. Our two-part in-office system, the checkup and cleaning, allows us to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your current oral health.

When you’re planning a trick-or-treating route or picking out your costume, remember to also schedule a recare visit with us and celebrate National Dental Hygiene Month with a bright, healthy smile that lasts long after the holidays have passed.
